There is SO much for me to say about this wedding!
Brandon, Susan and I actually first met at Nick and Candice’s wedding, so I knew before we even had our first official meeting that we would have a good time together! I honestly was so thrilled to be able to work with them - from the very beginning they had such fun ideas for their wedding day!
So, we all know that no bride really envisions rain on their wedding day, but we all know that there is always a chance, especially here in Maryland….so as I headed over the Bay Bridge towards Brittland Estates in Chestertown and it was pouring down rain I was feeling a little worried for Susan. But there was really no need at all….I got to the manor house, where the entire bridal party was hanging out, working on projects, and everybody was VERY calm, even the bride.
The skies cleared just a enough that they went ahead and had their ceremony down by the water….and as it started and Susan started walking down the ‘aisle’ I was a little bit weary of the dark line of clouds behind her. The skies were really AMAZING and the ceremony was really sweet and personally…and then the skies opened!! It started to POUR DOWN RAIN, but their guests just popped up their umbrella’s and their awesome ushers ran umbrella’s over to cover the bride, groom and girls and the ceremony went on until Reverend Beckner said ‘you may kiss the bride!’. It was a first for me, but one that will not soon be forgotten!
And for all those who worry about NOT getting cute photos in the rain - this wedding will prove that theory wrong! We got to do some really great photos outside, around the grounds and even got to go back down to the water when we got a little break in the weather!
And the party?! WHAT A PARTY! Because they had the property for the entire weekend this super fun party raged on into the wee hours of the night! I am only disappointed that they decided to jump in the pool hours after the reception officially ended…and AFTER I left!!
And my post would not be complete without a special shout out to all the awesome vendors who made Susan’s vision of her wedding day possible:
Smooth sailing courtesy of the super sweet Erin Zierfuss of Waterview Events

This just makes me laugh!

And of course, some pretty details for you!

I have to preface these - Susan baked ALL the cookies for her ‘cookie buffet’! She had 6 varieties of cookies and they were ALL A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! Holy cow - they were DELICIOUS! I told her she should go into business! She was even kind enough to send me home with A LOT of left overs, which is always a big hit with my girls! (Thanks Susan!!
