Are there princesses at ‘Princess Camp’??

June 29th, 2007 by Jen Lowe

The girls have spent the last week at ‘princess camp’ - which is really dance camp with a ‘princess’ theme and lots of crafts, snacks, dancing, dress up, etc. We sent the girls together for the first time this year - and one was the oldest of the bunch and the other was the youngest! On the last day they do a little mini performace, which is quite something - 10 little princesses all in a row doing a tap, a ballet, and a jazz routine that they learned in only 5 days! This is our oldests 3rd year of doing this camp, so she as an old pro. And the youngest had never taken dance before, but she really did well. I am so proud of them both for lasting a whole week, taking good care of one another during camp and having so much fun together. They put on quite the show today…here’s a few picts.

Their tap routine was to a ‘rock n’ roll’ song so they had these hilarious blow up guitars that were twice as big as most of them!

Ms. Sabrina runs a great dance program and studio - we all just love her!

And of course we treated them to lunch and ice cream at Friendly’s like any deserving princess would get after such a wonderful week full of fun, dancing and crafts! I wanted to take a funky picture of our ice cream sundaes, but everybody was so excited about the ice cream that we FORGOT! But boy was the ice cream good!

Maritza & Richard

June 26th, 2007 by Jen Lowe

Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing 2 of the most fun weddings I think I’ve ever done!

On Friday I joined Evan in photographing Chantelle and Nero’s wedding at the beautiful McDonough School Chapel and Grey Rock Mansion. While Evan was with the girls, I was with the guys…and what a charming bunch of guys they were. Nero was just the greatest guy and he was so excited to marry his sweetheart. They had many fun friends and family that came from all over the world, including Romania, Holland, etc….and they sure knew how to party! What a great time it was! Keep an eye on Evan’s Blog to see a slideshow of that fun wedding….

And then on Saturday I got to photograph the wedding of Maritza and Richard. I met Maritza and Richard about a year ago and I remember that the thing that really stuck out in my mind was what a beautiful smile Maritza had - a big happy smile that spoke volumes about how big her heart is. It was an absolutely gorgeous day for late June in Maryland and when I arrived at the Sheraton in Columbia the girls were preparing for the day with the make-up artist who did an awesome job - and finished them all up an hour before the timeline had stated! Even among all the hustle and bustle in the hotel room, Maritza’s sister-in-law, Celia, was taking a little cat nap….proof that being 8 months pregnant is very tiring. Once the girls were ready I went to join the guys for some getting ready fun. They, too, were ready early and we even got to take some shots outside the hotel before heading to the Historic Oakland for the ceremony. And I just have to say - both the guys and the girls in this bridal party were an exceptional bunch! They were so much fun and made us feel right at home the entire day.

Maritza and Richard hired the wonderful LaKendra Kennedy of Affairs with Elegance to help coordinate every single detail of the wedding day. She kept everyone on time and the details were beautiful - all the way down to the parsols for the guests during the 6:30 ceremony and the totally stylish CD wedding favors. The ceremony was beautiful in the Bishop’s Garden and then, with about 70 guests, all from out of town, they rocked the night away with tunes spun by Paul Love of Absolute Entertainment. It was chock full of dancing and fun by all! What a great wedding day!

Here is a peak at Maritza and Richard’s awesome wedding day. Just click on the image below to check out their slideshow!

Double Trouble?

June 21st, 2007 by Jen Lowe

I just got to do a photoshoot for the most adorable twin boys EVER! Being the mom of 2 girls, I wasn’t sure what to expect from twin almost-5 year old boys….And they DID keep me moving, but gosh, these two couldn’t have been any cuter! Dad set up this session as a surprise birthday gift for Mom - and I am sure she is going to love some of these shots of her 3 guys. We had a great time at the photo session and we even had a little play time in the middle just to let them run off some energy (which these two were FULL of!). Now, if we can keep the secret for another month until Mom’s birthday!

Seriously - aren’t they cutest?
