A Little Getaway

October 31st, 2007 by Jen Lowe

Tomorrow Greg and I are celebrating 10 years of marriage. It’s hard to believe that it’s been 10 years! I remember my wedding day like it was yesterday. From the rainy warm day to the lady who busted her face (no, I will NOT say her name!) on the dance floor trying to push my friends out of the way to catch the bouquet! It truly was one of the best days of my life and I am SO happy to be sharing my life with a man who I think is not only a great husband, but also an amazing dad.

Anyhow - I am blabbing on about this momentous day because we are going to have  a little getaway, just the two of us, for a few days, so forgive the lack of blogging and email because it is highly likely I will NOT be online for the next couple of days. Please be patient and know that I will get back to you all next week when I return to the regularly scheduled program!

And Happy Halloween! I’ll post some fun Halloween photos when I return, along with some more great weddings and some awesome engagment sessions!

Juanita & Joe

October 30th, 2007 by Jen Lowe

The next day I spent the day with Juanita and Joe at their awesome wedding at the 1840’s Ballroom!

I started with the girls at the beautiful 1840’s Carollton Inn. The girls were relaxed and ready to go ahead of time, so we took some fun photos outside. And those sweet girls were even kind enough to let me catch a ride to the University of Maryland Memorial Chapel in the limo! Greg met up with the guys at the Chapel a bit earlier, so everybody was ready to go for a very personal ceremony performed by Juanita’s grandfather. It was another beautiful day, so we took some fun photos outside both before and after the ceremony and then headed back to Baltimore for a rockin’ party at the 1840’s Ballroom.

And this reception was a PARTY! The reception was catered by Absolutely Perfect and was AMAZING! I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a caterer - just ask for Michelle Goldberg - she and her staff went above and beyond all night long. The dance floor was kept going all night long thanks to DJ Joe Breslin of Electra Entertainment. Everybody partied until the very end! (and they kept on partying after!)

Another very cool thing about the wedding was that Joe used his graphic design skills to create some very cool things for the wedding, which as a graphic designer, never goes unnoticed! Joe designed everything from the very unique programs to CUSTOM DESIGNED VESTS for each of his groomsemen! Once he designed them his mom sewed them for each one of the guys - how cool is that?! I LOVE when couples have those beautiful personal touches!

Joe and Juanita - thanks so much for sharing your wedding day with us! We had so much fun and wish you both a blessed marriage! Enjoy the show!

Jamie & Derek

October 25th, 2007 by Jen Lowe

My second 2-wedding weekend of October started with the amazing Jamie and Derek at the beautiful Marriott Renaissance in downtown Baltimore. We hit it off at our very first meeting, so I just knew that we would have a blast on their wedding day.

Greg and I got to the Marriott and went our separate ways until the  ceremony, Greg with the fun loving guys and I with the great girls. They all left plenty of time to take some fun photos downtown before heading to Saints Philip and James for their six o’clock service. They were really a fun bunch and both Greg and I had a blast!

After a lovely ceremony they continued on to an amazing reception in the Baltimore Ballroom at the Marriott Renaissance. It was just beautiful! Jamie really put a lot of thought and hard work into the details of her wedding. Everything was coordinated in the look, feel and color and it really was just gorgeous. They had an amazing cake creation by Charm City Cakes and an awesome martini luge! I also had the pleasure of working with DJ John Paul Berry of Absolute Entertainment  again and he kept the dance floor going all night long. They had a gorgeous ‘candy buffet’ set up as the guest favors, which is a new trend that I think is VERY fun and all the flowers from Bouquets by Bell were perfect. It really was all perfect.

And the icing on the cake - an awesome guest list that weren’t afraid to let loose and have fun! You could tell that everybody was having a great time all night long. It was so much fun that Jamie cried during their last dance - because she was sad that the day was over. I think that is a bride who truly had the best day of her life!

Jamie & Derek - you are AWESOME and I wish you  all the best! Greg and I not only had a blast spending your wedding day with you - we are honored that you choose to spend it with us!

Enjoy the show!
