A Snowy Day in December

January 30th, 2008 by Jen Lowe

At the begining of December we got a little sprinkling of snow, so of course I had to get the camera out to take a few photos of the girls. They were SO excited that it was snowing, even though it really wasn’t that much snow! We had to RUN home from school so that they could hurry up and play before it was done. I’m glad that we did, since we haven’t had much of that white snowy stuff since then…although there are still a few more weeks of winter left here… Here are a few fun shots of my little snow bunnies.

I didn’t have the heart to tell them that there wasn’t enough snow to really make a snow angel!

And no snow fall would be complete without catching a few snowflakes on your tongue! (certainly better than eating snow off the ground! ick!)

I’m back!

January 29th, 2008 by Jen Lowe

Hi all! I don’t know that I have ‘blog stalkers’ out there, outside of a few friends who have kindly and gently harassed me about how long it’s been since I’ve posted, but to anyone who checks out this blog regularly I truly apologize for how long it’s been since I’ve posted. After a crazy busy fall wedding season the holidays just snuck up! And you all know how busy the holidays can be! The holidays and end of the year were very busy here with fun family portrait sessions and lots of nice family time with my husband and girls. This year I was also able to volunteer for the school holiday parties and help with the photography for the school yearbook and christmas pagents. If I had not taken the plunge only 9 months ago to be self-employed I would be missing out on all those things! We also got to host a baby shower for my sister and her husband just days before Christmas. (They are expecting a baby girl in March and live in Alabama so this was the only time we will see them before the baby is born!). I feel truly blessed - so many wonderful people surrounding me, supporting me, inspiring me and there is just so much that I am so very thankful for!

But that is no excuse not to blog!!

We are back on track now and ready for an awesome 2008! I am heading out to Vegas (a first!) in March to take an incredible workshop (another first which is both terribly exciting and terribly nerve racking!) and attend WPPI for a couple days (ok- it’s a trip of all firsts!!). I am super excited about both and I just know that I’ll come back pumped up to start my wedding season with Angel and Matt’s wedding at the Elkridge Furnace Inn - an AWESOME couple to start wedding season with! Did I mention that I am super EXCITED?!

As I look through all the people I had the pleasure of photographing in 2007 I realize that there are many sessions that never got posted to my blog because I was so busy focusing on keeping up with weddings and engagement sessions that some of my other favorite clients got left out of the blog. So over the next 2 months (while there is a little down time from weddings) I am going to be posting some of the fun sessions I did that ARE NOT wedding related! (Wedding season will kick back up at the end of March, but I still have plenty of weekends open, so if you are still looking for a wedding photographer let me know - I am booking 2008 now!)

So, on that note, I am posting a fun family session I had at the very end of the summer - The Fischer Family. These kids are the sweetest kids - they truly treat each other with kindness and love and their whole family is just adorable! We did the session right in their own yard and had a blast! There is no stiff posing, backdrops or anything stiff about this sesssion - just fun times in their own comfortable space, which always makes for awesome, casual photos!

These are some fun and funky shots of the kids on the trampolene - I love them!

Aren’t they a gorgeous family?

Thanks for looking and keep checking back - I PROMISE I’m back in the blogging game!!

hugs!
