Tiffany & John are married!!

May 25th, 2009 by Jen Lowe

Last weekend I got to spend the day with another one of my wonderful couples - Tiffany and John - and it was awesome! I could gush on and on about this couple, but then the post would be super long! Let’s suffice it to say - I just love these two! They are such a sweet couple who are perfectly matched! They are so in love and have such wonderful and amazing personalities that I have no doubt that they will have a long and full marriage filled with so much love and happiness. They were surrounded by equally as awesome friends and family on their wedding day, which made it so much fun to document!

I started off with the girls at the Hilton Garden Inn, where Tiffany’s mom was doing everybody’s hair and the girls were doing makeup for each other. Everybody looked gorgeous - Tiffany’s mom did the most beautiful hair! Tiffany’s hair was just perfect  - it brought her whole look together! She was a gorgeous bride!

From there we headed over to Ceresville Mansion, where everybody got dressed and I got a little face time with the guys too.

Tiffany and John decided not to spend money on gifts for one another….but Tiffany is a girl of many talents and drew John a picture! I think he liked it - a lot!

Tiffany and John decided to do a ‘reveal’ in advance of the ceremony which gave us lots of time to take tons of photos of them together and it took the edge off before the ceremony, which was good. I love when couples do a ‘reveal’ - I get to capture their reaction to seeing each other for the first time!

I think John was thrilled to see his beautiful bride!

I love to do all those casual portraits - and Tiffany and John set it up so that we had lots of time for that…

Isn’t she adorable?!

Tiffany and John wanted to shoot outdoors a little bit during the ceremony….I’m so glad! I love these shots!

This one we shot at the very end of the night - LOVE IT!

The girls….

and the guys….

The wonderful Laura Canon, one of my favorite ministers, performed a truly custom ceremony for Tiffany and John that was so wonderful and heartfelt. John was holding back the tears the entire time - which always makes me get a bit teary! His love for Tiffany is so apparent and these two are so lucky to have each other.

When the groom gets like this I always tear up a bit….

After the ceremony it was time to party! I really felt like I was surrounded by an all-star group of vendors - in addition to Laura Canon, one of my favorites, I was joined by the always awesome Evan Rittmeyer from MyDeejay.com who kept the music going and the dance floor hopping all night long. In addition Da Vinci’s Florist created beautiful florals for the day and another delicious cake by Artistis Desserts.

The toasts were extra touching at Tiffany and John’s wedding - lots of happy tears and very heartfelt thoughts for the couple…

Some first dance action…

I believe that John was given very specific instruction NOT to smash cake….but wouldn’t you know that the cake would fall OFF the fork and down Tiffany’s dress?! LOL!

The dance floor was full and fun!

Kristen and Jared are extra special to me -  I had the privilege of photographing their wedding a year ago and are the reason why I was blessed to befriend Tiffany and John! Tiffany and Kristen are in medical school together and are supposed to be studying for boards right now!! (I hope you are studying right now girls!!)

And you know I love the details…..

Tiffany found these antique pins for the girls bouquets - they were gorgeous!

And what better way to end the night than with a delicious looking candy buffet?

It was a truly wonderful day and I really felt blessed to share it with Tiffany and John! Here a just a few of my favorites, but CLICK HERE to see their slideshow!

Tiffany and John - I wish you all the happiness and success in the world! You are two very special people with whom I am glad that I have gotten to know. I had a blast photographing your wedding day and look forward to getting together again soon! HUGS!

The Amazing Amie Decker & Friends!

May 22nd, 2009 by Jen Lowe

When one of my favorite people, the wonderful Amie Decker, called me for a portrait session to use on her new website I was thrilled! Over the past couple of years I have become friends with Amie and always enjoy working a wedding with her - she is an awesome makeup artist, a wonderful person to be around and everybody always enjoys her company. So I knew the session would be a lot of fun!!

She brought along with her the super fun and flexible Kelley, who is joining the Amie Decker team as a hair stylist, and Carrie, Amie’s super sweet apprentice. These girls were SO much fun and were more than willing to do the crazy things that I asked them to do! I could go on and on about how much fun we had, but you can see for yourself! Enjoy!

Let’s start with the group shots….

Amie is so cute and pretty! But what I love most about her is that she is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside - she truly is a wonderful person and I can’t say enough good things about her both personally and professionally. She started off our session by saying - ‘I don’t know what to do’ - and this was the first shot I took. Are you serious? Yeah, I think she did just fine! (As a side note, Amie did the makeup for herself and Kelley and Kelley did both of their hair - cool, huh?!)

And now some fun with Kelley! Kelley was a gymnast and she is still crazy flexible, so she showed us some of her ‘moves’ and utilized her ANTM posing too! She says she is ‘too old’ to model, but I think she’d be great, don’t you?

And Carrie is also gorgeous! She is Amie’s apprentice and has a great personality too! Amie is a lucky girl to have such a nice team to work with!!

I also have to mention how brave Carrie is! There was a wasp nest right inside one of the huge cracks of the side of this train, but she let me shoot her there anyway!! She only jumped once or twice when the wasp came in and out! I’m not so sure I would have been so brave!

Girls - I had a great time with you and hope that you LOVE the photos! Happy Wedding Season and can’t wait to work with you guys again this year! HUGS!

Nia & Frank’s Wedding!

May 15th, 2009 by Jen Lowe

You probably remember Nia & Frank’s engagement session, as it was not that long ago….so you already know that I was really looking forward to their wedding day. This couple is one of the sweetest and the perfect wedding to start the wedding season with.

I know I’ve said it before, but most photographers probably watch A LOT of the weather channel! I know I do. I also know that I have no control over the weather. I was disappointed to see that rain was definitely in the forecast for their wedding day, but I also knew that nothing would rain on Nia and Frank’s spirits!

I started the day with Nia and the girls at her sister, Kesa’s house, where Jennifer Quinn was busy doing gorgeous makeup for all the girls. I was also thrilled to have enough time to met up with Frank and the guys at Newton White Mansion to shoot a little of their preparation before the girls arrived. Everybody was in good spirits and ready to have a wonderful day - rain or shine!

Nia and Frank had a wonderful ceremony inside at the Newton White Mansion that was performed by Nia’s Uncle Jerry, which was followed by a small break in the rain so that we could take some fun shots outside. I was so thankful that we got to go outside for just a bit! There was a wonderful first dance for Frank and Nia, followed by touching parent dances, wonderful toasts and lots of happy guests. Everybody had a delicious meal provided by R&R Caterers and a delicious cake by Norman Davis of The Sweet Life (you may have seen him on the Food Network Challenge a few times!). The flowers by Randy Watts Designs were also beautiful - everything from the bouquets to the arrangements on the tables were gorgeous.

Event Designer Kyle Hutchinson and his team from Hutchinson Design Group did a wonderful job all day long - everything was lovely and they were a pleasure to work with.

Here are a few of my favorites, but you can CLICK HERE to see their slideshow!

This shot makes me laugh - her expression is so funny!

I love this moment of Nia and her Daddy….

The groom….

The guys were supposed to have double windsor knots, but nobody knew how to tie them! And what do you do with all of the technology today - of course you go to YouTube and find a video showing you HOW to tie that knot!! I mean how on earth did we do it before all of our fancy technology?

It was REALLY raining until just after the ceremony….thank goodness that Kyle picked us up some umbrellas!

This is one happy groom!

So this was a first! Frank got a round of applause as he made his way down the aisle! It was great!

These two are SO in love! You can just see it in their faces.

And of course we had to get some casual portraits!

This was a super fun group - I had fun with them!

And now for some casual portraits of the handsome groom….

And I just LOVE this shot of Nia - it’s so sweet!

These two are so fun and in love - but I already said that! It sure makes my job fun!

Some first dance action…

Nia and her Daddy…

A sweet mother son dance….

And of course you know I love my details….

Awesome shoes!

Gorgeous dress…

Beautiful rings….

Pretty Invites….

Lovely flowers….

Nia hand made her own place cards the night before the wedding….stamped and embossed….SO PRETTY!

Did I mention how pretty the florals were??

The room was so pretty with lots of green and pink and all that gorgeous natural light!

And last, but not least, some delicious cake!

Nia and Frank - I am so blessed to have gotten to know you two over the last year! I so enjoyed spending the day with your wonderful family and friends. I am so glad that I was there to capture it! I wish you all the happiness and love in the world and hope that you’ll keep in touch all the way from Hawaii!!!! HUGS!
