JLowe Photos — Jen Lowe, Photographer
Jen’s passion for photography was born when she picked up her first camera. In college, Jen studied fine art and graphic design, earning a BA from Stockton State College in 1994.

Since graduating Jen has worked as a senior designer and art director for several agencies and design firms in Maryland. Her career in advertising has afforded her many opportunities to explore the range of possibilities that photographic imagery offers in communication.

Jen’s interest in event photography was rekindled at her own wedding in 1997. The challenge and satisfaction of playing such an important role in the most memorable events in people’s lives inspired Jen to pursue photography as more than just a hobby. For Jen, photographing life’s most memorable events with a photojournalistic approach provides the opportunity to capture the true essence of a person through photographs. Her goal is to capture the essence of the moment, and the depth of human experience by being invisible, patient, and abundantly caring.

It is Jen’s heart, rather than her camera, that sees what is beneath the surface and elevates her photography above and beyond the ordinary.
